Today’s look is illuminated. I used the Mary Lou-Manizer from The Balm and Brown Script from MAC to create this flawless eye shadow. My personal favourite product from this look is the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. It just doesn’t crease and lasts a long time. My classic fave, the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Black was used as eyeliner. I love the look of strongly highlighted cheeks. I’m not much of a blush girl. I hope you enjoyed this look, there are many more to come!
A shocking 3 million children in the Philippines are forced to work in hazardous areas. Some have no choice, as they are the breadwinners of their families. This is called child labour. As defined by the International Labour Organization (ILO), child labour is work that “is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful to children; and interferes with their schooling”. According to the 2011 Survey on Children conducted by the National Statistics Office, the top three sectors where children are engaged in hazardous work are: agriculture, services and industry. Industry is labour that is mining, construction and more. Agriculture includes farming and fishing. Services is work that is of wholesale and retail trade. Labour can be detrimental to a child’s brain as they are forced to work without experiencing school or even a proper childhood. It can be a very emotional and traumatizing experience for them. In the same survey, it was concluded that 18.9% of all children in the Philippines were subjected to child labour. Though this number may seem small to some, to others it has a huge impact on their lives. According to the CIA world factbook, the literacy rate for all Filipinos aged 15 and over is 92.6%. This number is high for a third world country but what about the other 7.4% of Filipinos? They too deserve an education. This number also does not account for those below 15 years of age….The government expenditures for education is a miniscule 2.7% of the GDP. What these numbers are telling us is that the government is not doing enough to support its youth. And child labour is a result of a vicious poverty cycle that is hard to break. However. there is still hope for these children and YOU can do something about it! Log onto http://clkss.org.ph/resources/reports/national/ to report any sightings of child labour to prevent it from happening. You can make a difference in a child’s life.
This lip cream called Bonfire by NYX is the bomb! It’s creamy, glossy and long wearing. Not only is it pigmented but it stays on for a long time. I recommend it to every skin tone as it’s mauve-y colour will suit pretty much all tones. Love this product and will definitely try more! Plus, these are super affordable…
Highlighters to me are an important part of my makeup routine. They give the finishing touch to any fresh face. This highlighter by The Balm cosmetics is the ultimate highlighter. It’s glorious! This, my friends, is the Mary Lou-Manizer! It’s an eyeshadow, body shimmer and highlighter all in one. I love multi-purpose products. They are a great way to save money and to use in different ways. The color is a shimmery champagne, it’s creamy and would look fantastic on EVERY skin tone. The consistency is great and it applies smoothly. And because it’s a powder it stays on all day. I recommend it to everyone. A+!
Today I went to watch Epic at the cinemas and whilst at the mall, I did a little shopping! I bought The Balm’s Mary Lou-Manizer, MAC’s Star Violet E/S, Pro Longwear Concealer in NW30, Burts Bees Radiance eye cream and Acne Solutions toner. I might do some reviews in the coming weeks of these products. Let me know if you have any of them!

Etude House, a very popular Korean cosmetics brand recently came out with a collection called ‘Sweet Recipe.’ This collection is inspired by everything sweet: chocolate, candy canes, cupcakes, and more! I personally fell in love with this concept and I absolutely had to get my hands on some of the products. I am head over heels for two of them. The first one I will talk about is the ‘Chocolate Eyes’ eye shadow palette. This palette consists of 3 matte and neutral eyeshades that are perfect for fair to medium skin tones. Myself, being a medium skin tone found that all three shades actually worked for me with no problem. They applied smoothly and blended well. These shades are perfect for the everyday look but can also be applied for nighttime. I found the packaging a little flimsy, but I can deal with it as the eye shadows look like actual chocolate bars! These little details make me really happy.
The next item on my ‘I-love-it’ list is the Raspberry Mousse Cake all over color. This is a multipurpose item that looks like a cupcake and smells like candy. It is absolutely divine. One can use it on the lips as a lip stain or on the cheeks as cream blush. It is best to apply with a synthetic brush (like the Real Techniques ones) to get the best effect. In these photos, I am wearing both products and they go really well together. I love a bold lip with neutral eyes as it balances things out.
Recently, I got inducted into the Quill and Scroll Honor Society and also won the Service Award! I am so happy that people recognize my talents despite my disability. I am getting to a point where I am a stronger person now, not emotionally but mentally. I am able to deal with issues a bit more maturely. Don’t get me wrong, I still cry like a baby, but everyone has their moments. I just happen to have mine at the wrong times. I feel so blessed to be able to run a blog where I can share my deepest thoughts (like this one) and still feel accepted by my followers. So I guess what I’m trying to say is THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! Thanks for being there for me in my darkest hours and in my lightest moments. I know stuff can get deep but sometimes we all just have to let go. Thank you!
